Financial need

The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated financial pressures on students and their families, affecting day-to-day life.  If you are facing housing and/or food insecurity, or are unable to pay for materials required by your courses, there is support available.
  • Your faculty advisor or academic counselor can be a helpful starting point, and provide referrals to resources available on campus.
  • The Student Financial Wellness site, compiled by Student Financial Services, has a number of resources for students needing assistance with food, housing, affordable computers, tuition, and other expenses.
  • Swipe Out Hunger - this program, through Sodexo, provides meals on-campus for students in need.
  • Sharpen - for transfer students and students who live off-campus, the Office of University Ministries' Sharpen program provides grab-and-go groceries during the quarter.
  • Benevolence Fund: maintained by the Office of University Ministries and can be used for emergency expenses, such as food, gas/bus fare or school supplies.  Contact University Ministries at umin@honornm.com.
  • Students in Crisis Fund: maintained by the Office of Student Life, for students experiencing immediate financial hardship due to a family crisis.  Contact Student Life at studentlife@honornm.com.
  • Affordable Laptop Program: maintained by CIS.
