Biology Minors

Biology Minor
The Biology Department at SPU offers two minors to complement your major with a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of life and to enrich your scientific frame of reference.

About the Biology Minors

The Biology minor allows you to gain problem-solving and analytical skills through introductory and advanced coursework, as well as laboratory or field research experience. These abilities are assets in many professions.

The Bioethics and Humanities minor allows you to explore the human dimensions of health care, public health, and biomedical research to better prepare you if you’re seeking a career in the health sciences.

The Ecotheology minor allows you to pursue a scientifically and theologically informed understanding of creation care as you anticipate and shape the future and experience God’s creation through the lens of faith.

Career Opportunities

After graduation with a minor in Biology or Bioethics and Humanities, you could be on your way to serving in a position such as:

Courses and Requirements

For a Biology minor, you will be required to take at least 34 credits, including at least 15 upper-division credits. Review all of the Biology minor courses and requirements.

For a Bioethics and Humanities minor, you are required to take at least 36 credits, including 15 upper-division credits. Review all of the Bioethics and Humanities minor courses and requirements.
